Spring Break in Nassau, Bahamas

Nassau is the heart and capital of the Bahamas!  Located just off the southern tip of Florida, The Bahamas consist of over 700 islands, offering miles of white sand beaches surrounding small slivers of land. The city of Nassau, on New Providence Island, is the heart and capital of The Bahamas. The island, once a busy center for piracy, is now home to old fortresses, resort areas, Spring Breakers in March, and too many gorgeous beaches to count.

There are 17 stretches of beach on Nassau Paradise Island. Cable Beach, one of the largest resort areas in Nassau, is the first type of beach, offering luxury hotels, casinos and any service and water sport that you can think of. The second type is a deserted beach where you will find nothing but clear blue water, soft white sand and sunshine as far as the eye can see. This is where you can retreat from the stresses of life.

The pastel-colored architecture and thriving flora and fauna throughout Nassau Paradise Island make for more than just a “Wish you were here” postcard: They are testaments to the Colonial influences that still prevail on the island.

The Bahamas were granted independence from Great Britain in 1973. Cultural and historical sites make for easy side trips from the beach. Explore Fort Charlotte's  underground passages, dungeons, a drawbridge and a (now dry) moat. Queen’s Staircase is Nassau's most visited attraction. Climb 65 steps that were not built, but carved by slaves out of a solid limestone cliff in 1793. Fort Fincastle and Water Tower gives 360-degree view of the island from its vantage point at the top of Bennet's Hill.

Boutiques, gift shops, straw markets, retail stores, high-end fashion, bargain hotspots are every shoppers dream. If the variety of the shops isn’t enough to get you excited, Nassau Paradise Island is best known for its duty-free shopping?

Take in a sunset cruise, go deep and explore underwater wrecks and coral reefs on a diving or snorkeling expedition, swim with dolphins or get a kiss from a sea lion, or experience one of the largest water-themed attractions in the world. It is all available on Paradise Island.
